What This Means For You

About Thomas Moore — Founder, Zeus Commercial Capital

Thomas Moore did not start Zeus Commercial Capital because he studied finance in school or inherited a family lending business.

He started it because he has spent his entire adult life finding ways to make deals work in industries he had no formal background in, and because he understands, from direct personal experience, what it feels like to need capital and not know where to turn.

The Path

A Company Built on Referrals

Thomas’s path into business did not start in finance. He served in the United States Marine Corps, completing the Infantry Rifleman Course, before moving into the automotive industry. Within four months of starting in car sales in a brand new city, with no existing network, he was ranked among the top salespeople in the country for Nissan.

He was promoted into finance, became a top-performing F&I manager nationally, and was eventually recruited to serve as Director of Financial Operations, overseeing nearly forty dealerships across four states, working directly with captive lenders and helping dealership groups significantly increase profitability.

Building From Scratch, Again and Again

After stepping away from automotive to spend more time with his growing family, Thomas moved into an industry he knew nothing about: liquidation and reverse logistics. Within a few years, and without prior experience, he built one of the top privately held liquidation companies in the country.

From there, he launched a trucking company and freight brokerage, franchised retail stores, and eventually founded Zeus Commercial Capital. Once again, entering an industry without a background in it, and once again finding a way to build something real.

This pattern is not an accident. Thomas has built a career out of going all-in on industries he had to learn from the ground up, treating every new venture as solvable through persistence, curiosity, and a refusal to accept “no” as a final answer.

A Setback That Reshaped Everything

Like many business owners, Thomas faced an extraordinarily difficult stretch during the COVID-19 pandemic. Operational disruptions, supply chain obligations that could not be paused, and the broader economic shock of that period led to financial hardship that ultimately required him to file for bankruptcy and rebuild much of what he had built over the previous decade.

That period also brought significant personal loss, including the passing of his grandfather, a man who had played an outsized role in shaping Thomas’s work ethic and resilience from a young age.

Rather than allowing that chapter to define him, Thomas has spoken openly about using it as the foundation for a more intentional, values-driven approach to both life and business. He often credits his grandfather’s words as something he leans on to this day: tough times don’t last, but tough people do.

Why That Matters for Zeus Clients

Thomas rebuilt Zeus Commercial Capital from that low point into the company it is today, and that experience shapes how the company treats every client who comes through the door. When a business owner sits down with our team carrying real financial pressure, that conversation is not happening with someone reciting a script.

It is happening with a team led by someone who has needed capital under real pressure himself, who has been on the wrong end of a financial system that does not always make room for hardship, and who built a company specifically to do better by the people who walk through that same door.

A Hands-On Investor, Not Just a Lender

Thomas is also a real estate investor in his own right, with an active rental portfolio. He personally uses the same DSCR and fix-and-flip loan programs that Zeus offers its clients, meaning that when our team discusses a deal structure, scope of work, or construction draw schedule, it is grounded in firsthand experience, not theory.

Recognized in the Industry

Zeus Commercial Capital has been recognized as a Top 10 Innovative Financing Firm, and Thomas is an accredited member of the American Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (AACFB), an industry body that monitors member firms to help protect investors and business owners from the kind of bad actors that unfortunately exist in commercial lending.

Thomas’s involvement extends beyond accreditation alone. He contributes to several committees within the association, supporting the broader integrity of the industry he works in.

What This Means For You

A Company Built on Referrals

Most new clients who come to Zeus Commercial Capital arrive through a referral from someone who has already worked with the team. That is not something we can manufacture through marketing alone.

It comes from consistently treating every client’s financial situation with the seriousness it deserves, and from a founder who has lived through enough financial hardship himself to know exactly what is at stake for the people sitting across the table.

One recent client put it simply in a Google review: “Thomas is a great guy. He worked really hard for me and made my whole experience a good one. I would gladly recommend him to anyone. He’s the best in my opinion.” That kind of feedback is not the exception. It is what consistently comes back to us once a deal is done.

Get to Know the Team

Beyond Thomas, the Zeus Commercial Capital team includes experienced professionals across underwriting, client services, and processing who bring years of industry expertise to every deal. Whether you are exploring financing for the first time or you are an experienced investor looking for your next deal, our team is built to understand your situation and find the right path forward.
